Arborist-Climber
Candidate should be experienced with chainsaws, all climbing techniques , excellent knowledge of ropes and rigging methods. Must be trained or willing to learn proper arboriculture best safe working practices and working towards becoming a certified arborist.
Reports to: Crew Leader, Arborist Representative
Primary Function: Serves as a team member of a tree care crew with the primary responsibility of climbing, assisting crew leader in the performance of all duties.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all required climbing, and aerial lift duties of any specific job assignment, as directed by crew leader or designated supervisor.
- Participates in all job site safety briefings.
- Understands and demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of customer relations.
- Develops a basic understanding of tree growth.
- Demonstrates equipment inspection skills.
- Demonstrates and practices proper climbing techniques and procedures.
- Demonstrates and practices proper rigging techniques.
- Learns and understands the dangers associated with electrical hazards.
- Follows directions from the crew leader or designated supervisor.
- Participates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improves job safety skills.
- Strives to improve job skills and develop the potential for advancement to crew leader
- Strives to promote a positive company image
Groundsperson
This is a very physically demanding job. Candidates must have a positive attitude , ability to remain alert at all times and be very willing to learn and take orders from crew leader and experienced crew members.
Reports to: Crew Leader
Primary Function: Serves as a team member of a tree care crew with the primary responsibility of assisting climbers and crew leaders in the performance of all duties.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all required ground duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader or designated supervisor.
- Participates in all job site safety briefings.
- Utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Assists with the implementation of work zone safety procedures such as the placement of cones and signs, and the provision of flagging services.
- Properly utilizes hand tools associated with arboriculture.
- Uses and maintains chainsaws safely, when qualified.
- Assists in conducting a tree risk assessment prior to working on any tree.
- Assists with the implementation of tree felling procedures.
- Assists climbers and crew leaders working on the ground and aloft.
- Operates the chipper and all other equipment safely.
- Assists with driving, back up, dumping, and parking duties.
- Learns and understands the dangers associated with electrical hazards.
- Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day.
- Follows directions from the crew leader or designated supervisor.
- Learns, understands, and adheres to all safety rules and company safety policies .
- Participates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improves job safety skills.
- Communicates well with all crew members and crew leader.
- Strives to improve job skills and develop the potential for advancement.
- Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the crew leader or designated supervisor.
- Strives to promote a positive company image.
